Union is defined as something formed by uniting two or more things; a number of persons or states joined or associated together for some common purpose.

Our Founding Fathers had multiple opinions and different backgrounds but came together under the principles of liberty and freedom, recognizing that the overreach of the British King was creating a “union” or community built on force without voice, and they all united in the desire for a better way. Each had a fundamental belief in God and His divine organization for His children; they leaned on the lessons taught in the Bible to build a nation and people on those principles. Our Founders were willing to give all, “[their] lives, [their] fortunes and [their] sacred honor,” to fight for the principles they espoused. These incredible men and women with the foundational values of faith and freedom are the reason we have the United States of America and they say as much in the first sentence of our founding document, the Constitution: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union.”
